Long holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from Clearwater Christian College (CCC), where she was a three-time All-American setter and won three National Championships. In addition to her decorated career as a player, Long brings to IA many years of coaching experience at various levels of competition at the club, high school and college levels.
Long assisted the women's volleyball team at Lancaster Bible College while serving as head coach of the men's program and was named the Division III North Eastern Athletic Conference coach of the year in 2013. In the elapsed time since she last coached, Evelyn stepped away from coaching to grow her family.
Long’s definition of success is rooted in Colossians 3:23: Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.
“I am thrilled with the opportunity I have to return to coaching,” says Long. “I look forward to continuing to grow the sport of volleyball at IA with excellence. My overall goal for the volleyball program is to see young women grow in their love for the Lord and their love for volleyball.”
