This summer's Kingfish squad found their success in consistency, accountability, and grit. This group of guys came to practice on a daily basis with a purpose and intent to get better. The Kingfish grinded 5 days a week with workouts starting at 10am and a 2+ hour long practice immediately following. The consistent and intentional training and development these guys received this summer is unmatched, and they took full advantage of it.
Â
Each player supported one another, pushed each other to get better, and picked each other up on and off the field. These guys were not only determined to improve on a personal level, but they also exercised a fiery competitive nature as a team. The energy in the dugout remained high and positive at all times, no matter the situation or the score.
Â
The aforementioned hard work these players put in each and every day truly paid off and their development was off the charts. Over the course of our 7-week summer program, we saw significant increases in both exit velocity and pitching velocity from the spring season. In just a short time, the Kingfish players averaged a 5.2mph exit velocity increase off the bat, as well as a pitching velocity increase of about 4mph.
Â
The three core values of the Kingfish set the foundation of the team and led the Kingfish to a winning record this summer, finishing at 7-6-1 through four tournaments. Amidst this success, the Kingfish secured a championship victory at the St. Pete Baseball City tournament on June 24-25. Despite tough competition and a small Kingfish roster, the players battled and proved themselves to be a very formidable opponent.
Â
Highlights with the bat include
Sean Dromgool (2026) posting a 92.2mph exit velo and
Gio Cruz (2025) posting a 90mph exit velo. On the pitching side,
Oakley Shirk (2026) and
Rylan Autman (2027) both registered 78mph on the radar gun this summer.
